I first played hockey (field) when I was 13 and fell in love with the sport. It is the 3rd most popular sport in the world, only behind soccer and cricket (both of which are professional). Many people flock to other sports for the money, but true hockey fans stick with the sport out of pure passion and love for the game.  Speed, skill and fun make hockey exciting and a game all members of the family can play. Field hockey is honestly the most intense, frustrating, greatest game anyone can play. My daughter, Aleisha Neumann, is an elite hockey player and international umpire, so I have the privilege of photographing some great players in exciting matches. Their commitment and athleticism are amazing to capture and I wonder how they stay on their feet at times.
